The three-day Honor Flight is a transformative journey for the very bravest in our country. There are two options for North Bay veterans:
North Bay Honor Flight: Flying out of Santa Rosa Airport, this flight leaves Tuesday morning August 22, 2025, and returns Thursday night April 25, 2025. It’s the first flight for this group, and open to all North Bay Veterans. Requirements include a guardian, and the cost is between $1500-$2000. For more information go to www.northbayhonorflight.org.
Honor Flight Bay Area: Flying out of San Francisco International Airport, trips leave on a Friday morning and returns on a Sunday night. Requirements include a guardian, attending an orientation meeting, and more. The cost is about $1250. For more information go to www.honorflightbayarea.org.
All Honor Flight veterans are accompanied by a guardian. The guardian is an able-bodied adult who accompanies the veteran throughout the trip and assists the veteran, as needed, with boarding/deplaning aircraft and charter buses, pushing the veteran in a wheelchair, ensuring the veteran has sufficient water and food throughout the trip, and providing other needed support to the veteran.
The Honor Flight is not limited to World War II or Korea or even Vietnam veterans. If you do not make the trip this year, then ask to be kept on the list or reapply next year.
